Romà Vallès Simplicio (Barcelona 1923-2015), painter and educator, is one of the pictorial references of Catalan informalism.
He studied Fine Arts in Barcelona and then continued his training in the main European cities. He began by exhibiting his paintings in Barcelona, at the Galeria René Metras, and since then has presented his works all over the world. He was also a professor at the Barcelona School of Architecture and at the Escola Massana, among other schools. He wrote about children’s art and participated in the main European congresses on art pedagogy, where he presented his findings.
Isabel Vallès, the only daughter from his marriage to Montserrat Audouard, together with Lídia Alcolea, the painter’s granddaughter, will be part of this new project to disseminate and communicate the life and work of the artist Romà Vallès.
