Commemorating the centenary of the birth of Romà Vallès (1923), painter and educator, this exhibition is proposed in order not only to show the works of art made by the artist to date, but also to continue his message and update it to the new reality of 21st the century.
The reason for the exhibition is to be able to bring informalist art closer to a public that wishes to understand the complex framework of the artist and his creative processes in order, in some way, to see the art reflected in itself. Our intention is to present Romà Vallès from an unexplored perspective until now: an emotional, close and innovative approach.
The exhibition and the project comprise three main elements: visual innovation, intimacy with the artist and the involvement of the viewer. These three points are just as important in order to create a memorable and rewarding experience.
Romà was a curious and courageous being in his continuous search for new ways of experiencing art and life, which is why this exhibition aims to be innovative and groundbreaking, continuing his legacy of exploration and courage. Through the use of audiovisuals, it is expected to give a fresh vision to delve into the feelings that the artist suggests, thus approaching a larger audience.
Behind the exhaustive exploration that Romà carried out with his art there is a person still unknown to many, this is the second objective of the exhibition. The level of understanding just by looking at the artworks is limited, so it is proposed to add a sentimental approach at the same time. What concerns did the artist have at this time? What music did he listen to? What was his temperament? Responding to this more personal appeal, the aim is to establish a direct link between the person and the artist, a fact that undoubtedly enriches the public’s interpretation and appreciation of his work. Finally, the same exhibition space and the elements in it give rise to an immersive experience in the world that Romà Vallès inhabited.
Creating a space inspired by his workshop, Calaceite and his own thoughts, where the viewer is invited to feel and think like the artist.
